Reasons To Be Cheerful 11.10.12

11 October 2012

Is it really Thursday already? This week has flown by. And I'm still coming to terms with the fact that we're already well into October and rushing at break neck speed towards Christmas!

R2BC is being hosted by Julie at Mama OWL this week.  Please pop over and say 'HI' and take a look at what everyone else is being cheerful about this week.

Our usual host, Mich at Mummy From The Heart is in Ethiopia with the ONE campaign seeing all the great work they do. So please visit her blog to read her amazing updates of her time there.

Right let's crack on with the cheerfulness...

1  //  I had a lovely birthday yesterday. I still can't quite get my head round the fact that I'm now 37 years old. Why does that sound so much older than 36?! When you get to this age and have two children under 4 your birthday is more or less just like any other day. But it was still a lovely day as I got some fab presents and cards and made myself a gorgeous birthday cake! All topped off with a trip to Bingo with a couple of friends where we won the life-changing sum of £15!

2  //  Since Oliver started pre-school he's like a different child. He is now such a good boy! He plays nicely with Lydia, is being more independent, doesn't give up so easily if he can't do something and is generally much better behaved. Up until recently, everything had been a battle with him. He would say no to everything we asked him to do and wanted us to do everything for him. Don't get me wrong, he can still be a little so-and-so but it's a massive improvement on how he was.

3  //  I'm finally coming to terms with the fact that summer is over and we are well and truly into Autumn now. I'm not a huge Autumn/Winter fan but I do love all the events that these seasons bring, like Halloween, Bonfire night and of course Christmas. Julie at Mama Owl's post about her ideas for Halloween, has inspired me to make some plans of my own. So I'm now planning a very small family party for Halloween. My kids and my two nieces are all under 3 years old so they're too young for trick or treating so we're going to have a tea party with some cupcakes and biscuits to decorate. I'm going to make some decorations, organise some Halloween outfits for them, and carve the obligatory pumpkins which I always love doing. There are a few things I need to organise but it should be lots of fun.

So what have you got to smile about this week? If you want to see what other people are cheerful about, pop on over to Mama OWL to read their stories or follow the links below!
