I'm a Football Widow

8 June 2012

Well the UEFA European Cup 2012 has started. Hubby is a big football fan and I can't stand it, which means I'll be a football widow for the next 3 weeks. I'll have to suffer two matches a day... and he has to watch every single one.

Thank goodness hubby works shifts and next week he's on lates, so I'll have 4 football free days.

And thank goodness I've got my new Kindle. I think I'll be doing lots of reading over the next 21 days. I downloaded three new books last night so I'm well prepared!

I'm sure I'll be able to distract myself by doing some baking too. Plus I need to try out my new cooker as I haven't made any cupcakes in it yet. First up are some Black Bottom Cupcakes that I've been wanting to bake for ages.

At least I've got you... my fab followers. Expect to see lots of posts from me and I'll be able to keep up to date reading all your blogs too.

Are you a football widow or widower? Or will you be getting into the spirit and watching the matches?

  1. I quite like football tournament time, I can catch up on my blogging/social media things, my cross stitch, and like you my Kindle! The problem that I have is that he says he wants to watch all the games, but sometimes they aren't that interesting so he wanders in to see if I want to watch something with him on TV, and I've already planned what I'm going to with my evening to myself!

    1. Haha yes I suppose I should see the positive side of it and all the other things I can be catching up on. I can't even go and watch TV upstairs as our daughter sleeps in our room! My plan is to read or go on the laptop and listen to music so I can't even hear the football! xx

  4. Black bottomed cupcakes are the best! love them! Luckily no one in the house likes football although I am a computer /war games widow. Equals out in the end though - my husband is a rugby widower!

  5. I don't mind the football, I always get behind England games in big tournaments like these. But I am lucky as Daddy Lloyd doesnt have to watch every single match - we take it or leave it! Good Luck!!!

    1. I think I'm so averse to football as my dad's not a fan so I never watched it growing up, but hubby is obsessed so I went from one extreme to the other! Only 18 days to the final though and if England does well I'll definitely watch them x
